Lent II 2015

Seeker:  ​​​​ God, what do​​ these stories mean? ​​ Why all this​​ emphasis on nations and generations?

Reader: ​​ O God, whose glory it is always to have mercy; be gracious to all who have gone astray from​​ 

​​ ​​ your ways, and bring them again with penitent hearts and steadfast faith

Cong:  ​​ ​​ ​​​​ The encircling love of God has no beginning or end; neither​​ start​​ nor finish. ​​ It is as​​ deep​​ 

​​ as the need.

Seeker:  ​​​​ God, you made a strange promise to Abram. ​​ Changed​​ his name for him and then​​ he became​​ a

 ​​​​ father at the age of 99! ​​ Do you control the future; laying down the “plan?”

Reader:  ​​​​ And God said to Abraham, “ I will make you nations of you and kings shall come to you and it​​ 

 ​​​​ will be an everlasting covenant to be God to you and to your offspring after you.”

Cong:  ​​ ​​ ​​​​ The encircling love of God has no beginning or end; neither​​ start​​ nor finish. ​​ It is as​​ deep​​ 

​​ as the need.

Seeker: ​​ So what is this convenant? ​​ Why does it matter to me?

Reader:  ​​​​ And God continued, “And I will bless your wife and she shall give rise to nations and kings shall​​ 

come to her.

Cong:  ​​ ​​ ​​​​ The encircling love of God has no beginning or end; neither​​ start​​ nor finish. ​​ It is as​​ deep​​
