Chrysalis

A chrysalis does not care what type of

caterpillar has created it, only​​ 

existing for the process of transformation

it being the vehicle, the space,

the time; a way to transition

from a crawl to winged flight

and without such a time, there would be

no butterflies and too many caterpillars

so the shelter becomes the most critical part;

safety from wind, rain, light, prying eyes

but the chrysalis is the least enjoyed​​ 

the most unknown, mysterious

for the caterpillar is valued for what it will become

and the butterfly for what it is​​ 

but​​ were it not for​​ the chrysalis….
