Nehemiah

We need a Nehemiah

“the wall of Jerusalem is

broken down and its gates​​ 

have been burned with fire”

afraid and unsure

but willing and ready

unfit before God

but a savior​​ for​​ the suffering​​ 

he set out to​​ repair the​​ 

gates of Jerusalem​​ and the

walls that had been​​ 

broken and shattered

he went to find a pathway

even at night

few ways in

and no way out

mocked by​​ Sanballat

and Tobiah and Geshem

for rebelling against the

king, he declared they

had no more claim to

the city of promise

and he made a plan,

laid out directives

and so each man

in his own place

repaired his door

and the door of his neighbor

his own wall and that​​ 

of his brother

and the people

could rejoice

again that they​​ 

lived in peace
