The moon is full tonight,
the Long Nights Moon,
round and orange
lingering just a bit
on the horizon
a fully round circle of
reflected light from a
source far away
a reflection
so bright that it is the
most intense light
of the natural night sky
and yet the moon can only
reflect what it receives
only return what
it has been given
and when something
blocks that light
the moon is just another
revolving rock in the
dark depths of the night sky.
