a torrent of hate
raining down on
the just and the unjust
the guilty and the innocent
a pouring out of pent-up
anger and grief
over rumors of
lost times and myths
covering
the seeds placed
in the ground
by those that
have passed before
hoping for the blossoming of
goodness but
now watered
by the rancid and putrid
mass of a self-induced
hatred of each other
and our collective
future.
