Yahweh reads the standard type while Moses reads the&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"T4\">bold<\/span><span class=\"T5\">&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"T6\">type and the Interpreter reads the&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"T7\">red<\/span><span class=\"T8\">&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;type. &nbsp;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;All readers are in the chancel. &#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;Yahweh is stage left, Moses is center stage and slightly upstage. &#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;The interpreter is stage right and faces Yahweh.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"Normal\">&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"Normal\"><span>And Yahweh was moving among the heavens. <\/span>&nbsp;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>The cries of the people of God had been heard over<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>generations and Yahweh was determined that they should<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>be set<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>free. <\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>The Lord ached at the thought of the suffering.<\/span>&nbsp;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>Who would lead the People of God out of captivity? <\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>Who had the strength and the experience to do it? <\/span>&nbsp;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>Yahweh was determined to answer the prayers of the people.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P9\">&emsp;&emsp;&emsp;<span>(Interpreter turns to face audience)<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P10\"><span>Yahweh could hear the prayers<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"P11\"><span>but<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>was<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>without the means.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P12\"><span>Without the person<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P13\"><span>God<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>would not,<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"P14\"><span>could not,<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P15\"><span>act without the<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>human energy<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P16\"><span>committed along with the<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"P17\"><span>vision<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>of the Almighty.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P18\">&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"P19\"><span>(Interpreter turns back to face Yahweh)<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P20\"><span>And Moses was out guarding and watching the sheep.<\/span>&nbsp;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>It was hot and dry;<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>the earth was scorched. <\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>Moses was<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>living out yet another life having been born to a courageous and determined mother; set adrift among the reeds,<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>rescued<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>by the<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>Pharaoh\u2019s daughter<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>and<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>in turn<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>raised by his own mother. <\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>Brought to riches and privilege; placed in<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>an<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>unearned position. <\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>Having known of his own people and seen their slavery and having felt the pain of his kin and friends, he pleaded<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>for their fair treatment and for that he lost his privilege and his life was threatened. <\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>After killing an Egyptian man, he<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>fled to the desert where he had shown mercy to<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>some<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>shepherd girls<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>who were being mistreated by other shepherds. <\/span>&nbsp;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>He<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>formed a family with one; a gift from her father to Moses. <\/span>&nbsp;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>Moses was complicated.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P21\">&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"P22\"><span>Whoa, <\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>What is that?<\/span>&nbsp;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>That bush<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>is on fire<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>but is not being<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>burned up! <\/span>&nbsp;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>Stop<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>and hear the<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>Word of the<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>Lord.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P40\">&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"P41\"><span>Am I hearing things?<\/span>&nbsp;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>Maybe I\u2019m dreaming. <\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>If this is Yahweh, it is a strange way to appear; in a burning bush that<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>does<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>not burn up. <\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>I don\u2019t know what to do.<\/span>&nbsp;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>Truthfully, I am scared and I don\u2019t want to look silly talking and listening to a burning bush.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P42\">&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"P43\"><span>The voice in the bush warned Moses to come no closer and to remove his sandals. <\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>Yahweh<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>announced to Moses<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>that he had been summoned to holy ground; not an everyday occurrence, even for Moses. <\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>He was<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>confused<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>but he removed his sandals and waited for what would happen next. <\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>He<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>was more than a little worried.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P44\">&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"P45\">&emsp;<span class=\"T46\">OK,&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P47\">&emsp;<span>I am here.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P48\">&emsp;<span>I am listening.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P49\"><span>(Interpreter turns to face audience)<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P50\"><span>A declarative statement,<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P51\"><span>Not a question.<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"P52\"><span>A change; a shift<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P53\"><span>I am here.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P54\"><span>I am listening.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P55\"><span>A pause<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>to<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"P56\"><span>stop and<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>consider.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P57\"><span>I am here.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P58\"><span>I am<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>listening.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P59\"><span class=\"T60\">Now&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"T61\">Yahweh<\/span><span class=\"T62\">&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;can proceed<\/span><span class=\"T63\">.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P64\"><span>(Interpreter turns back)<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P65\">&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"P66\"><span>God<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>had a plan and it included Moses going to the people of Israel and bringing them out of bondage. <\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>It was a big plan and one<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>that<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>would<\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>affect many people and many generations. \u201cMoses, listen. <\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>You are going to be part of rescuing the people of God. <\/span>&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;<span>You will lead them and they will follow you out of bondage.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P67\">&nbsp;<\/p><p class=\"P68\"><span class=\"T69\">No! &#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;Are you kidding<\/span><span class=\"T70\">&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;me<\/span><span class=\"T71\">? &#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;I was born an Israelite but raised as an Egyptian. &#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;Now the Pharaoh wants to kill me and the Hebrews don\u2019t trust me much either! &#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;An<\/span><span class=\"T72\">d<\/span><span class=\"T73\">&#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;you surely know that I killed that Egyptian man! &#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;There\u2019s more! &#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;This will not work. This is not a good plan. &#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;I need to stay here where I\u2019m safe and my family is safe. &#x200b;&#x200b;&nbsp;I can\u2019t do it.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"P74\"><span
